Youth Sport

On September 18th and 23rd, we focused on whether organized programs were worth the effort or not. First, there are many factors that can support this question or defer this question.  In favor of deferring this issue, the article talks about “sports rage.”  This is becoming popular in youth sports thanks to parents that are heavily involved with their children’s sports.  There are 47 million children that participate in organized youth sports.  This means that there are that many parents or guardians that are involved with their child’s sports.  Second, the child is driven to injuries.  It is obvious in the article that when the child is pushed too far because of competitiveness
and the drive that their parents put on them, they can develop an injury that sometimes is not taken seriously.  There can also be physical attacks that occur between parents making the sport no longer fun.  Third, we learned that parents can also be a positive impact on their children.  If parents aren’t involved with their child’s sport, they are most likely working so that their child can play the sports that they want.
